This document describes setting up shorewall for 2 popular device configurations: single nic as firewall and dual nic as firewall. Shorewall comprises rule and configuration files as well as marcos and modules (to interact with the lower OSI layers). In the simplest case, there are just a handfew of files (6) required to get shorewall up and running effectively.
